The xmas lights in Meadowhall were turned on last night, Marlon Dingle and the woman who played Dot Cotton in Eastenders turned them on with Pudsey the Bear from Children in Need. It was a really nice festive feeling in there last night and because the shops are open till 10pm now, there's some where to go to relax after work with the girlfriends!
I LOVE the festive season...
There were heaps of things going on in there last night for Children in Need. Singers and performances in the Oasis area. Futureproof (the boy band that got kicked off the X Factor a few weeks ago) were there, all the teeny girls were screaming for them and chucking their knickers at them (I couldn't see it - I was in Nandos busy scoffing my chicken with Candy, but I bet they were!:).
There are quite a few films I want to see at the moment, so if any HeyTowners are up for it to, let me know...Beowulf? (Ray Winstone and Angelina Jolie's new one, it seems a 'guys' flick), Brick Lane (this one is showing at the Showcase cinema in town, anyone been to that cinema? I need a friend to go with me), Into the Wild, Elizabeth (but I'm booked to see that with Melanie already).
There was a film Exclusive on Brick Lane on Film4 last night and the film looks good.
We have an event happening next Tuesday for diva - eattain 2007 at the Magna Arena in Rotherham, and have been told it's a 6.30am start (to be at the venue for that time!!...I'm not looking forward to the departing of my neglected bed!).
What else?...the Xmas lights in Sheffield are being switched on this Sunday. I've not been to this event before and will be in town to mingle in with the hype.
I was supposed to meet Manzi and Co on Sunday to talk about Secret Santa, and where our xmas party would be eld this year but it's been postponed right? Don't be tight ppl, just set the Secret Santa budget at £20.
