No sleep for the wicked?...

If you ask me what time it is whilst I type this hi-life entry, then I will tell you, it's actually 4.18am exactly...I hear you ask, cindz why on earth are you up this early....or haven't you been to slp yet? In fact, I've had trouble sleeping lately, far too much randomness on my mind lately, mainly due to work - like always (why can't I just cut that off!!!?....)...well, hopefully after a few words of garbling to you I will feel sleepy and manage to fit in a hour of snooze time before actually waking up for diva time.

Like I mentioned, lots on my mind lately...I finally received my book I'd bought from Amazon 2-3 weeks ago - I didn't understand why such a long delivery. It's called ENOUGH, I'm currently reading through the Introduction section. It's not a sci-fi book, or romance, or design but a culture-changing book (non fiction - self-help kinda one).
It reflects on the sheer stupidity of our endless striving for better and more when we already have more than enough. Going on how we have evolved into a race chasing the impossible dream that ends up with us all stressed out, depleting our resources, unhappy and unfulfilled :(. The author (John Naish) argues we need to develop a cultural sense of "enoughness" and to be happy with what we HAVE rather than always striving for more and better.
I first read an extract of this book in the Daily Mail paper and was overwhelmed by the topic and the author's writing style which is with flair and a sense of humour...this is my first book in a long time!...and cindz is determined to finish reading it. Glover should be interested in this book - I'll give it you to read Glov once I've finished it:)
But it was interesting what one colleague of mine said to me which made me think, but in buying this book he said, you are (I was) doing exactly what the author is warning us against. Think about it, do (did I) you really need this book? It is telling you what you deep down already know, and reading this book isn't going to instantly make you stop buying all the things you don't need, only you (I) can do that!

Enough should hopefully help to answer something that's baffled me - why I carry on consuming everything when I've known for decades that it's so disastrous/a bad habit.

My trip to London a few weeks ago was great (I never knew how much fun fobbing around could be, ehhh Barry!?:), Cheers Lisa too, and Bessie....couldn't believe how Bessie made such an effort to join us - all the way from Hull just for that one day. I will be off down again for May Day too (if any HeyTowners want to meet up, send me a text or message and I'll arrange something) - finally more time with you Suz (we've not been together in centuries!). I've not booked our train tix yet, so that's something I must remember to do.
Oni? it'll be great to finally catch up too, I missed you last time (but I guess you're far too distracted nowadays:)...

Dan, my line manager has been off sick for the past week and so we're currently swamped with work by a man down, constant client 'needs this' voices deriving from all pathways - no wonder I cannot slp right? I'm hearing voices now!;) Can cinDz retire before she's 40?...I often think/daydream of this...haha...
Currently working on a Healthy Schools 16pp Cookbook where I'm drawing a heap load of quirky character illustrations, mainly fruit and vegetables with smiley faces and expressions of 'Eat me', 'I'm your daily one portion' and 'I'm healthy' shown on their faces, actually, some of them are really cool too. I've got to illustrate a 'human' lunch box with suitable food contents inside for young children to consume (it's taking form now and looking quite humorous, haha)..I've a hefty 180pp Resource Pack to complete too, must be off to print mid-May. so yes, it's all GO GO GO at the moment in the work dept.

A few weeks ago when the clocks went forward, the days defin' feel longer and finishing work knowing that there's still rays of daytime seen, is such a good feeling! Cindz must begin her exercise regime too (I know I've been saying this since, well, forever) but although a person may look healthy on the exterior, her/his interior is/may not be the same I assure you - I'm out off breathe too easily! plus how can sitting in front of the Mac and only getting up/away from my desk for toilet breaks and coffee be healthy/fit? I cannot feel my stomach muscles anymore - did I ever have any in the first place!?

Right its 5.18am now as I finish typing up this entry...I'm going to grab a hour of snooze time or else my poor colleagues will have to put up with an irritative and snappy cindz today...how can I be like that to Tango, Steve, Mark, Martin and Lock?
