We are Racing for Our Lives!

Today is a more serious post - myself and Candy (and a few other friends I've known for years) will be taking part in the Race for Life 5k Fun Run this coming June (next Sunday to be exact) in a bid to raise money for the charity. I have had firsthand experience of what cancer can do to a family, and this charity in particular supported us throughout the whole ordeal as best as they could.

Please dig deep and help me reach my target of £250 (I'm actually not that far off) - it doesn't have to be a large donation, every little helps as they say and would be greatly appreciated.
Visit: www.raceforlifesponsorme.org/cindy_cheung

Every little helps and you'll be helping other families get through something which can affect anyone at any time without warning. Thank you so so much and wish me luck on my training! (I'll need it :)

Run CinDz Run

This year I've begun my Race4Life training awfully late, compared to last year when training for morning jogs/runs/walks started in April, this year, I've left myself 3 weeks til the big run!!! (why!? I ask myself). I'm not a big fan of physical exercise, but it's for such a good cause and last year's event was quite good fun.

I've just got back from a 45 mins jog, must say, it went really well....despite it being scorching outside, I found it therapeutic and calming (that's before I started to experience some stitch!!)...Anyway, I've just got back indoors (the house is considerably cooler than outside)...and am off for a quick cool down and then it's a sprint off to B&Q for some rollers – I've said that I'd get one of the bedrooms painted up (and have been telling myself this since April), so I better get these words into action.

If anyone can spare any loose change (or notes) please sponsor me "Run CinDz Run" – I'll be at the Don Valley with Candy on the 20th June from 10am.

Twisted Anonymous meetings....

Realising a long while ago how awful I've been in keeping my cinD updates/notes/scribbles up to date, finally, I've decided to give myself a massive boot up the back side!! I've realised for those who I've not been in touch with or (are slightly) interested in what I've been pondering on about could find out here >>> I'm not too sure in how well I'll do this though!

This summer I've been invited to take part in something unforgettable (it'll certainly be unforgetable to my health!), I'll be involved in the Race for Life on 14th June (who else is taking part?), I'm doing it by myself for the time being and my training is (slightly) underway...I've been going for morning strolls at 6.30am but the weather's been crap these few days so it's disrupted my regime and I've been gaining an extra 20mins in bed. Thank you to those who've sponsored me (thanks for showingme your support). Those who know me well, will know I'm not the fittest of all bodoes and hardly ever get as active as I have been! (you can understand why I opted to become a designer, right???). I’d be really grateful if you would continue to dig deep and sponsor me online - it’s quick, easy and totally secure. I’m really hoping to reach my Fundraising target (it seems I'm not too far behind either), so please gimme a supporting push HeyTowners! :)

For those who are/enjoy being involved in 'Crafty' activities (not the deceitful way) but if you like to get the needles, cottons, buttons and sewing machines out, there'll be a craft fair taking place in the Workstation this Saturday - from 10am to 4pm called 'Sheffield Spring Fling'. Go and have a look to see some of the folks who will be selling their fantastic work. I've taken a look at some of these seller's websites and their art are definitely worth taking a gawp at - see you there, I'll be having a snoop around Saturday morning.

I've also just signed up to a Flickr account (of course I had done several times already - Flickr Rules! but I kept forgetting my password and log in name). CINDY CHEUNG Flickr Pool, where you'll be able to gawp and view my illustrations, works I've been involved in from time to time - I'll do my utmost best to keep these update too of course!

The sun is shining (well kinda), the birds are singing (they did yesterday), and spring is in the air. I'm currently doing updates to my YoHeydays website too (deleting, stripping and shaping it up for the summer) so keep an eye out for some new pages and colourful illustrations being posted up soon :)
