A Pretty Sweet Sunday

I've had an eventful Sunday evening in the kitchen tonight with Candy — we made luxurious Chinese egg tarts (it was my first time in making these 'calorific' delights and wow, these were 'dead' good)...I've always had a thing about bakery goods — there's something about sugar, eggs and butter that makes these ingredients sexually alluring to my taste buds!...

I've always said, if I wasn't going to be a Graphic Designer then I'd grow up to be the owner of a very successful bakery! - selling brightly coloured cupcakes and muffins, served with champagne (or perhaps just lemonade :)
Let's hope a new sweet week is ahead for me.
Good night HeyTowners.

Curry Sensation

Thanks Amanda and Shirley for dinner last. I went out with the colleagues last night, for our (finally) curry meal - as a thankQ from the bosses for winning a design campaign. We went to the Saffron Club on West Street. Classic and contemporary is the description of the decor as well as the food. The internal decoration of the Saffron Club is excellent. It is clean and although I'm not a massive curry fan, the dish I had was really tasty, their garlic naan bread was tops!!!
Candy?...we must try it!! - take Daniel with us (since Leon is leaving us very soon).

Yesterday was Daniel and Leon's graduation day too. The ceromony was held up at Sheffield University area. I decided to nip out during my lunch hour to join them all for pictures and to catch a glimpse of the guys in their smart suits and gard' gowns. Remember to make me a copy of the pictures (or email them to me). The day reminded me of my own grad' day (one of my most moving/happy/memorable/emotional/special days ever). We went into the gardens at Firth Hall to take photos (the flowers in their were lovely), I'm glad it didn't rain - although it did look like it was going to.
Hope Leon and Daniel had a very special day - U both looked very smart (thumbs up!). CONGRATULATIONS :) Finally, after hard studying, you two are now graduates!!! (horaay)...Leon goes back to China in a few days for the summer (everything seems such a mad rush), although this week Candy have tried to get me out for dinner with them (for a a gathering before he leaves) I've not been able to attend any of them - Sunday? So far, Sunday we've arranged for a lunch gathering together!

It's Dan and Martin's (diva) birthdays tomorrow, we'll be expecting cakes and a lovely Friday lunch. last Friday we had a chinese from Pak Hoo House, thanks to Hayley for driving me to pick it up. I'm hoping to make Jelly to take into work with me tomorrow for everyone (jelly and ice-cream, a tasty classic! - I was thinking of making a trifle but I've no sponge and whipped cream is yuk). I'm going to chuck in a little bit of Vodka in it too (vodka Jelly?), it'll livin the place up in the afternoon...hahahhaaa!!!
Can you believe it's Thursday already? Right, I've got LOADS to do, need to type off, a busy day ahead!!!

Rain, rain go away, please come back another day.....and it has!!!

ahhh so heres an update for the week, I've been out a lot lately (keeping myself busy and trying not to think too much about things, nonsense things!), been doing many things at work/home too many things i cant be bothered to name them all. Been out with friends a lot and catching up with old ones too on Facebook and by doing so have gotten closer more to them...In a way you might think, Facebook, MySpace, Friendster and all these other online/friend making applications are a bit sad or just a fad that'll disappear (U may even think, haven't you anything else to do!?...infact, it's good to have these networking apps for us to keep in touch with past friends, getting a message on my wall makes me think - ahhh, that person's actually thought of me today...), keeping in touch is good, especially in this fast paced world we're in, where we don't even have time to do the very simple things in life, GO ON, SEND ME A POKE ON FACEBOOK and say a hi:)

Aaaaaaahhhh, what a wet week too!!!, on Weds it was the worst day ever!!! I got drenched and actually thought, whilst waiting for the bus to work, I'm going to get a taxi, I was going hysterical whilst waiting for the bus (10mins!!). This week's gone really fast, been hectic at work, it was two colleagues birthdays too - so lots of cakes and chocolates to share between us all (hope Lock and Anna enjoyed themselves). I've been informed divas getting a new company car too, we're trading in the Celica for a new one, I've forgotten the model name but been told it's quite pricey - Let's face it, if we were buying the same model BUT 3yrs old we would save £15,000!!!...we must have money to burn, i was thinking when i heard this...I COULD GET 7-8 NEW STATE of the art Macs for that.

Any Towners hooked on Big Brother?
This evening I went to ASK for dinner with five other great mates...such a nice suprise to see Josephine out too (wasn't expecting to see U tonight)..Suz? I haven't seen u for a while, please let me know ehn you're free for a meet up, lots of things to catch up on :) (minimum a 2hrs chat right!), hope the final project is going well too. On Friday there's an exhibition on at the Workstation. It's the students degree show starting at 6.30pm, I've been asked by one of the teachers at Norton College to attend the Private Viewing that evening, so any wanabe designers around this area should take a look. There's always lots of funky/shows happening in here.

Plus, this week in the Millenium Galleries (for the next 2-3 months) is an exhibition on for POSH FROCKS!
Fashion and Fancy Dress: The Messel Family Dress Collection 1865 - 2005. From the MG's website it states: An exhibition comprising over 55 outfits, Fashion and Fancy Dress is a stunning and unique selection of garments drawn from the extensive wardrobe of six generations of one remarkable, influential and artistic family.
Candy and Suz?...are U up for a visit one day soon? Lets go and ponder over which gown suits us :), we'll arrange something soon.
Anyway, I'm shattered...switching off the lights now...
